Are you feeling lonely?

Have you ever felt lonely? Even just for a moment?

A recent survey by the Mental Health Foundation found that in the UK, one in 10 people has suffered from loneliness. So this month, the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is focusing on loneliness, giving advice on what we can do to help both ourselves and our each other.

Loneliness can happen to anyone, and isn’t restricted to when someone is literally on their own. It is often stated that a person can feel at their loneliest in a crowd full of people. We all spend large quantities of our lives with our work colleagues, sometimes seeing them more than our own families, so it is important that we are able to identify those amongst us that need a little more help along the way.

The EAP CiC has put together a full help sheet that not only gives tips on overcoming loneliness and spotting it amongst colleagues, but other additional resources and charities that you can turn to yourself or pass on to others, which you can access here.

You can gain further advice and support by emailing the Wellbeing hub, or ready more via the Employee Assistance Programme; go to the website www.well-online.co.uk and login using the details: user name - EEASTlogin / password - wellbeing.
