Bedford shoppers receive free health checks

Free blood pressure checks were offered to the public in the Harpur Shopping Centre in Bedford last week.

Community Partnership Training Officer, Simon Marshall gave mini health checks to 16 shoppers in Bedford’s central shopping precinct.

One member of the public at the event was advised to make an appointment with their GP due to a higher than normal blood pressure.

The patient and public involvement (PPI) team were also on hand to give out information leaflets on a range of different subjects such as community first responders, recruitment, the Trust User Group and advice on using the ambulance service.

PPI Manager, Victoria Boyce, said: “The event went really well and we got a lot of good feedback about the ambulance service. It is important to hear what the public think so we can look to learn and improve from all the feedback we receive.”
