Celebration for Lorna Marriott

We know that many of you would appreciate the chance to say goodbye to our much-loved colleague, Lorna Marriott, after the sad news of her passing.

Lorna’s funeral will be taking place at 10.30am next Thursday (21^st July), at the Luton Crematorium (The Vale, LU2 8DD), with a celebration afterwards at the Leaside Hotel (LU13 1BT).

Her family would be delighted for colleagues to join them; as per Lorna’s wishes it isn’t a full-service ceremony, but we will be providing a Guard of Honour to say goodbye to her as only the ambulance service family can. If you’d like to take part in the Guard, please meet at the crematorium at 10am.

Understandably, many of our Beds & Herts colleagues will wish to attend; if you’re able to provide support and cover for shifts to allow as many of the team to do so as possible, it would be hugely appreciated. If you’re able to help, please contact West Herts station or the DLO team.

A JustGiving page has also been set up in Lorna’s memory, with donations going to Keech Hospice, which provides hospice care for adults and children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses, and where Lorna spent some time.
