Chief Executive recruitment update

The Board has confirmed that it will look to start a recruitment process for a new Chief Executive in 2015, although at this stage no date for this has been agreed.

Anthony Marsh, who is also Chief Executive of the West Midlands Ambulance Service Foundation Trust, was brought in to accelerate improvements in service delivery and to build the foundations for long term sustainability, for up to a two-year period.

As a result of a series of actions put in place when Anthony took over in January, and thanks to the hard work of our managers, staff and volunteers, long ambulance delays are significantly reduced, performance is improving, complaints are down, and compliments are up; however we recognise there is still much work for us to do.

Following two unsuccessful attempts to recruit a Chief Executive in 2013, the Board is now starting to plan the recruitment process to ensure that the long-term leadership of the Trust is secured. In the meantime, Anthony will continue as Chief Executive and continue to drive through service improvements.
