Death benefits scheme

Side of RRV with lozenge

The death benefits scheme is set up to enable a payment to be made to the family or nominated beneficiary of any employee that dies while employed by the Trust, providing that they are a member of the scheme.

It is available to all employees of the Trust and is free to join. In the event of a member of staff passing away, a small donation, equivalent to a one off payment of one hour’s pay of your basic salary, is deducted from each member.

The amount of money that is paid out in the event of the death of a scheme member is entirely dependent on the number of members in the scheme.

To register with the scheme, please fill in the electronic form on East24 and submit it online. You can also print the form and post it to the HR services office in Bedford (Hammond Road, Bedford, MK41 0RG).

The full terms of the scheme can be found on East24. If you have any other queries or questions regarding the death benefit scheme please contact a member of the HR services team by email hrservices@eastamb.nhs.uk or by phone on 01234 243200.
