ECP medication audit

Yellow kit bag

We are performing an audit of the usage of ECP-specific medications across the Trust and need your help to do this.

The purpose of the audit is to review the medications which are supplied under your PGDs, which will allow the Trust to ensure it is following best clinical practice. It will also enable the audit team to review the associated patient care records to review medication usage, PGD compliance and medication supply.

This will also help specific monitoring of antibiotics use, in respect of antibiotic microbial resistance.

A form has been sent to all ECPs on the Trust electronic record, which is required to be completed for the next three months starting on the 13th July. Every time you supply any of the ECP-specific medications (this does not include the standard paramedic drugs), please note it on your form. You should use the latest approved medication list for ECPs for reference, which was published in January. This is required in addition to the usual patient care paperwork.

Once you have completed your form for the month, please email it to medicinemanagement@eastamb.nhs.uk. If you are an ECP and do not receive an email in the next couple of days, please also get in touch via that email address.
