End of Shift trial update

It has come to our attention that there has been some confusion around the End of Shift trial.

This update is to confirm: -

• The trial is still live and running in Norfolk & Waveney and Hertfordshire & West Essex.
• The trial was paused on six occasions between the 6th & 12th September where the Trust declared Surge White (Internal Critical Incident).  
• On each of these occasions the trial resumed immediately when the Trust de-escalated back to Surge Black. 
• The plans to expand the trial previously announce on Need to Know are still on schedule to take place.
• At Surge Black the Strategic Commander will have the discretion to deploy resources outside of the trial guidelines, but this should only be in exceptional circumstances.
• Should the Trust declare an Internal Critical Incident then the trial will be temporarily paused.
