EOC priorities

In line with the Trust’s performance improvement action plan, six specific priorities have been drawn up for the emergency operations centres (EOCs).

Following a review by Transformation Director Daniel Gore, the priorities listed below will contribute to improving frontline performance and our service to patients and each have been assigned with more detailed actions:

  • ensure arrangements are in place to stop patients waiting unnecessarily, including developing our clinical support model
  • ensure processes are developed to triage and respond to patients appropriately, reducing complexity and confusion across the system and better support staff
  • implement robust EOC workforce, planning, recruitment and training to reduce pressure on our staff
  • ensure EOC play their vital role in reducing the Trust's risk profile
  • ensure that current information and technology is fit for purpose and supports improving care and user experience
  • create seamless integration between EOC and field operations supported by high quality and accurate live information driving consistency across all three centres and the Trust. This will be supported by enhancing the operations cell to become a regional coordination centre.

The progress of these priorities will be updated regularly to staff in EOC and more widely in Need to Know.
