Focus on Freedom of Information

Transparent EEAST crest

Disclosure log

Following discussions with UNISON over the need to become more open and transparent, the Trust has recently published a disclosure log on its public website, which contains a list of all closed FoI requests and their responses received from April – December 2013. This helps people get answers to questions that might already have been asked without needing to put in an FoI request.

Requests

Your rights when making a Freedom of Information request

All requests for information from the Trust must be made in writing and must include a name, address (email/post) and a clear question/information request.  Once received your request will be acknowledged and replied to within 20 working days.

Your obligations in dealing with Freedom of Information requests

If you receive a request for information you must forward it to foi@eastamb.nhs.uk as soon as possible. Complying with Freedom of Information legislation is a legal requirement that the Trust must comply with, so it is also important that you provide information promptly if asked by the FoI Officer.

Freedom of Information requests can be made for any information held by the Trust; however this does not include person identifiable information.

If you require more information on this please consult the FoI policy on East24 or contact our FoI Officer, at foi@eastamb.nhs.uk.
