Got a project idea that could improve patient care? Funding available through charity programme

Have you got a project idea that could help improve patient care?

Under the Innovating for Improvement programme, project teams are eligible for up to £75,000 of funding to test and develop ideas and approaches to improve healthcare delivery, or the way people manage their own healthcare in the UK.

Run by The Health Foundation, an independent charity committed to bringing about better health for the UK, the programme supports the redesign of processes, practices and services and helps clinical teams put their ideas into practice to improve quality.

Entrants will need to demonstrate a clearly identified and convincing problem that they want to address, i.e. a significant quality issue that is relevant to UK healthcare, and show how their projects will lead to direct benefits or impact on patients within 15 months.

In this round of Innovating for Improvement, the Foundation is particularly interested in applications from projects that will apply an innovative use of data.

Projects that will be considered under this theme could:

  • use an innovative method of data analysis with existing healthcare data
  • use a novel data source (e.g. patient generated data) or data linkage
  • present existing data or analysis in an innovative way to improve care
  • use an existing data analysis technique to inform the development and testing of an innovative intervention.

Want to find out more or apply? Visit the Foundation website for all the details. The charity is holding an information call on Monday (6th March) so interested applicants can hear more about the programme and ask any questions. You can register for the call here.

If you’re considering applying for the programme, please get in touch with our quality improvement team so they can support you with your application.
