Hertfordshire community convert phone box into life-saving station

A community in Hertfordshire have thanked EEAST for donating a public defibrillator and have switched on their creative minds by converting an old telephone box into a station for the life-saving device.

Following on from the Trust’s recent push to install 1000 defibrillators last year, more and more communities throughout the region are still being supported with similar donations and are welcomed by those people.

David Clark of the Reed Parish Council said: "I'm delighted that EEAST offered us a defibrillator, we are very keen to offer residents awareness training and hopefully we can finalise a date soon."

The idea of converting an old phone box has been commended by staff at EEAST. Simon Marshall, Community Partnership Training Officer for Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire said: "It's such a great idea, what a fantastic use of an old phone box; I'm already looking forward to meeting the residents of Reed and giving them some vital training."
