Hertfordshire's new community perinatal team is open for referrals

If you’re treating an expectant or new parent in the perinatal period, there’s a new team to send referrals to.

The Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s perinatal team is available Monday to Fridays, 9am-5pm for women who are:

  • registered with a Hertfordshire GP
  • pregnant or up to 12 months postpartum who are experiencing or at risk of perinatal mental health disorders and cannot be effectively managed by primary care services.

 

This includes:

  • previous episodes of post-partum psychos
  • bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and serious affective disorder
  • previous or current moderate - severe depression or anxiety
  • PTSD / previous birth trauma
  • eating disorders
  • personality disorders.

 

For urgent referrals, you can phone 0300 124 0939. The team will aim to complete triage assessments within two days.

To start up the process, you will need a referral form, which can be found here. Complete all sections and send the form to:

Referrals can also be made through HPFT’s single point of access (SPA) by calling: 0300 777 0707 (8am-7pm)
