Internal development opportunity: technician to newly qualified paramedic

As part of the Trust’s commitment to developing staff, we are pleased to announce an internal development pathway for our current technicians to progress and become newly qualified paramedics (NQPs).

This course will enable staff to qualify as an NQP and provide eligibility to register with the HCPC subject to successful completion. There will be a mixture of in-house classroom and university Diploma of Higher Education.

If you are a current technician or senior technician, with at least 12 months’ experience post qualification working as a technician, then we would encourage you to apply (bank staff can apply but will need to become substantive before commencing on the pathway).

Please note: uou will also be required to evidence academic qualifications of a minimum of five GCSEs of grade C or above, of which two must be maths, English or science (alternative equivalent and relevant qualifications may be accepted). It should be noted that you will be required to apply to the university upon completion of in house development.
