The thought of shaving our head would make many of us turn and run in the opposite direction.
But for Norwich call handler Lucy, it was the perfect way to raise money for a friend diagnosed with cancer.
Lucy’s friend Chloe, 22, was recently diagnosed with a cancerous stage four glioblastoma brain tumor: “I have known her for nearly 10 years, we have performed together and she helped to raise money and awareness for EDS (my disability) and for my sister’s new wheelchair. Her family mean a lot to me and my family.”
“When Chloe told me, I decided that i did not want her to be alone. My friends and I have come up with numerous ways to stand by her such as getting matching tattoos and wigs for a day out when Chloe has her wig fitted.”
Chloe decided to leave her hair to go naturally rather than shave it off, to raise awareness of what it is like to do that. Lucy, together with her partner, shaved her hair off in solidarity.
“So we are building an army of soon to be baldies to raise money for the brain tumour charity so the wonderful support and research they provide can continue to happen!
“If you don't know me it is going to be a big thing to make the chop but I'm not doing it for me. I'm doing it for Chloe.”
