More opportunities for ECAs to progress this year

The Trust is extremely pleased to announce that an additional 60 places for ECAs to progress to EMT have been created for this year, via the six-week block course route.

This is in addition to the original 60 places planned for 2015/16. Extra courses will be run around the region and there are also local modular courses, which are being coordinated by senior locality managers (SLMs).

SLMs are now looking at ECAs in their area who achieved the highest scores in the assessments and will be allocating those people to courses in the next few weeks.

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to take part in an assessment, more dates will be offered in the autumn.

Chief Executive Anthony Marsh said: “I am delighted we have been able to offer more chances for our ECAs to become EMTs this year. It is something that I know you feel strongly about so we have been working hard to achieve this as soon as possible.”

If you have been given a place on a course for this year you will be contacted in the next few weeks by the management team in your area. If you have any questions, please post them in the comments section below or email training@eastamb.nhs.uk.
