National Air Ambulance week

Anglia One helicopter in flight 1

Next week is National Air Ambulance Week, a week to celebrate and support our local air ambulances in the east of England – East Anglia Air Ambulance, Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and Magpas.

In 2013, the national campaign was boosted by the creation of a celebrity video montage which featured 17 celebrities and sports personalities quoting the words, “I support my local air ambulance, do you?”  This year, air ambulance charities are asking the public to get involved by recording a short video saying the same words and placing it on their social media feed.  Video’s shot, should include the #NAAW2014 tag and if possible nominate three other individuals to do the same.

Steve Wheaton, Assistant Chief Ambulance Officer for Resilience and Specialist Ops, said: “We are privileged in the east of England to be working with three excellent air ambulance charities that operate five helicopters.  This allows us to bring in specialist teams to support our staff in helping patients often in the greatest need, providing the best possible pre-hospital care. Please support their campaigns and encourage your friends and family to do likewise.”

The Essex Air Ambulance is promoting its ‘Go Yellow campaign’ and the Herts Air ambulance is promoting its ‘go red’ campaign next week. To learn more, simply visit:
