New clinical non-executive director appointed

A nurse who has previously been a CEO of community mental health and learning disability NHS trusts has been appointed as a non-executive director at EEAST.

Tony Mclean now runs an independent healthcare businesses and specialist consultancy services, after working as a general nurse, psychiatric nurse and health visitor, before moving into management.

Tony said: “I am very pleased at becoming a non-executive director of EEAST. I hope that my professional background will add a further dimension to the Board and my broad public sector and commercial sector experience will assist me to add value to all aspects of the Board’s work.

“I recognise we have a very committed and skilled team of staff who aim to give the best possible care across all our services. I see my role on the Board as supporting those managers and clinicians responsible for services, in ways that enable them to deliver the best care possible and to continue to review and develop the services we offer.

“I look forward to meeting many of the staff through my induction and the time the non-executive directors get to see different elements of the service through visits and meetings.”

Trust Chair Sarah Boulton added: “I am delighted we have appointed Tony to the Trust Board; his clinical knowledge and experience will give us a new dimension and adds to our commitment of delivering excellent patient care.”
