New dispatchers in Norwich

A trio of dispatchers have joined the Norwich EOC this week to help boost the capacity in the control room.

Wendy Ketteridge, Dan Taylor and Kirsty Butcher (pictured l-r) passed their two-week initial training at the Hellesdon base on Friday, and this week started their 15-shift training in the room itself.

Wendy, who has been with the ambulance service for more than 20 years and was most recently an ambulance transport assistant in Beccles, added: “I’ve really enjoyed doing what I’ve done, but I wanted to do something different and see what life was like working in the control room.”

Kirsty added: “I’m raring to get going and get stuck in.”

Dispatcher Ben Wall has seen them through their training, supported by the EOC Training Team. He said: “Our new dispatchers have been a delight to teach over their two weeks of training. They are looking forward to their mentoring phase and getting 'hands on' with the live CAD and helping patients!”
