New look this summer for Trust website

The eagle-eyed of you who use the service’s website will have noticed a brand new fit-for-purpose version to help meet today’s digital demands.

The project to give www.eastamb.nhs.uk its biggest update since it was established in 2011 was led by the communications team, with support from IT.

Digital Communications Officer Gail Huggins has been working hard on the design, framework and content to ensure the website is now easier to use on mobile phones, as about 40% of visitors to the site use those devices to access it. It’s also improved for tablets like iPads.

Importantly, the refresh has allowed for a complete design change and content overhaul - the home page is also more simple to navigate so that people can see campaign, recruitment and news content quickly.

Gail said: “Following the launch of Need to Know in 2014 and a refresh of East24, our external-facing digital channel has been brought up to date to keep in step with how people access websites, what we need to signpost them to, and has the most relevant content possible for visitors when they first see it.

“Although facebook and Twitter are really big platforms for us online, they’re used much more for engagement with the communities we serve – the website is somewhere for people to find out more about the services we provide, what roles we have to work in, sign up to volunteer opportunities, and so on.

“We really hope people like the new look and feel to it, and of course we always welcome ideas and feedback about anything online that people want to let us know about.”

If you’ve visited the website and want to give feedback, or have ideas about online work, please email gail.huggins@eastamb.nhs.uk.
