New resource allocation and dispatch guidelines launched

HEOC dispatcher

The Trust is implementing new resource allocation guidelines on the 17th June, the aims of which are to ensure no patient is kept waiting unnecessarily and that all patients should get the right response in the quickest possible time. These guidelines will help dispatchers in the EOCs allocate resources in a consistent way given the various changes to our resources over the last year.  They have been simplified and clearly layout the process for deciding how to allocate an emergency crew or vehicle, when CFRs should not be deployed and guidance on when crews should be diverted from an existing incident. This does not affect associated existing arrangements such as end of shift or meal break.

The guidelines, which can be found on East24 will give us a standard way of allocating emergency resources to minimise patient waits and also help to ensure the appropriate divert decisions are made.
