New software coming soon for IPC audits

The Trust is changing the software that allows you to submit audits for infection, prevention and control (IPC).

The new system, called AuditR, will be brought in for use during March and extended to patient transport service (PTS) in April. AuditR is a web based programme which is accessible from any internet connection. The change will enable all audits to be completed and submitted electronically at the time of audit, instead of filling in a paper copy and submitting it online. This eases the process and saves time. It will still be possible to complete a paper copy then submit online afterwards, if you can’t do it online at the time.

The system will notify you if the station or vehicle has already been audited, so will help to reduce the number of accidental duplicate audits. There are also a series of dashboards available which shows live progress and the compliance levels of the audits, making it easier than ever to monitor the audits for your area.

You can access the AuditR software via the East24 IPC audit pages, the East24 ‘quick links’ page and click on Auditr, or directly via www.auditR.com.

You will need a user account set up; everyone who regularly performs IPC audit will be set up automatically and should have already received an email with their log-on details. If you haven’t, then please email Vijay.loi@eastamb.nhs.uk to arrange for an account to be set up.

The new system is very straightforward and easy to use. It is similar to the Datix system with a straightforward layout. There are helpful user guides and videos to assist if you require:

The system has been successfully trialled for the past month by the Beds & Herts locality and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and has allowed us to iron out most of the inevitable teething problems and glitches. If you have any issues, please email ipcadministrator@eastamb.nhs.uk

The manufacturer is still working on some elements of the reporting and these should be fully functioning soon, but this will not affect the submitting of audits. Currently the dashboards are only set up for the management teams, however, this is being worked on and all staff will have access to the relevant dashboard in the next few weeks.
