New stroke research trial is coming to Peterborough

Manual handling ambulance credited to SCAS

The Right-2 is a UK-wide ambulance-based study exploring whether lowering blood pressure at the acute onset of stroke (<4 hours), reduces death and disability.

The two-year trial tests the pre-hospital administration of GTN patches vs. sham patches by paramedics in FAST positive patients who have a score of two or three.

The research team will be launching the project with a training session to help interested staff learn more about Right-2,  the science behind the trial and give the opportunity to complete the study training (CPD certificate available).

The two sessions will be running at Peterborough ambulance station on Monday, 12th October:

  • Afternoon session - 2pm
  • Evening session – 7pm

You can read more about the trial in the American Heart Associations Journal.
