New transfer process for emergency ops and EOC

As you might be aware, the Trust overhauled the transfer process to make it simpler, quicker and more effective in July 2013.

This process covered the majority of frontline staff but excluded other roles within emergency operations, so now a new transfer process will be launched to incorporate these remaining staff.  This includes duty locality officers, vehicle cleaning operatives, ambulance fleet assistants, emergency operations assistant and all staff in EOC (up to and including band 7 managers).

This will sit alongside the current emergency operations transfer processes for road staff, which remains split into ‘sector to sector’ moves, Norfolk to Bedfordshire for example, and ‘senior locality manager to senior locality manager’ moves, like west Essex to north Essex.

It’s also been agreed that the healthcare referral team (HCRT) role will be included within the original emergency operations transfer process, and the policy documents have now been updated to reflect this.

The new process, called Modified Emergency Operations and EOC Transfer Process (Non-road staff and DLOs), will be launching this week. Further information about who is eligible to put in a request under this process will be available via the policy documents on East24.

This process will be managed centrally by the HR services team, and the request form is available to download from East24. As requests for transfers of this kind have previously not been permitted, the team is asking for anyone who has previously submitted a request to please re-send it.  In the interest of fairness, these requests along with any others received between now and 5pm on 26th February will be given the same receipt date.  Any duplicate requests will be ordered by a random selection process, and any requests sent after this date will be dated as they are received.

The full policy document is now available on East24 and should be able to answer any general questions you may have, but should you have any further queries or want to speak to someone about your personal circumstances, please email transfer.queries@eastamb.nhs.uk, and a member of the team will get in touch.
