NHS Big Tea 2021

Big tea pour the hope

On Monday the 5th July, we will be stopping to share our heartfelt gratitude to every clinician, nurse, support worker, hospital porter and paramedic who has put themselves on the line this year to keep us, and our loved ones, safe.

When we last held the NHS Big Tea in 2019, there were hundreds of events in hospitals, ambulance services, community and mental health trusts across the UK.

We know times have changed, but when you get a break, why not make a brew, raise a mug and share a selfie in collective thanks for our NHS #NHSBigTea and #TeamEEAST.

If you can, please take a moment to reflect on these past eighteen months and what our NHS has accomplished. This could not have been achieved without your commitment. Thank you.

Ruth May, Chief Nursing Officer for England said:

“I am incredibly proud of our health and care staff for their extraordinary work, continuing to treat tens of thousands of patients alongside delivering the biggest and most successful vaccination programme in NHS history, in a year like no other.

“The NHS Big Tea is a great reminder that it is important to look after ourselves and I want to thank NHS Charities Together for helping everyone to take a moment to reflect.”

If you would like to take part in a #NHSBigTea, you can register today on their website and you’ll get access to a variety of goodies to help you plan your tea party, virtually or in person.

Whether you host an #NHSBigTea or not, you can also give a birthday gift to the NHS with a text.

To celebrate the NHS’s birthday and our amazing NHS staff, join us in taking 5 minutes to have a cuppa, giving £5 and tagging 5 friends. Find out more details here.

You could also choose to donate to our charity at EEAST.

Party pooper alert! - We would love you to enjoy a tasty treat for the birthday but please do remember the Covid-19 workplace guidelines on sharing food. The guidelines for workplaces state that there should not be any sharing of food and drink by staff.

Thank you for your support.
