Ops update: server upgrade in EOC

Bedford EOC 1

From Monday (4th), work will be undertaken to upgrade the digital radio terminals and software in our emergency operation centres (EOCs).

Whilst the work, which is expected to last for three weeks, is underway, EOCs will need to temporarily reduce the number of digital radio positions. Although normal digital radio functionality should be available throughout, it will result in a reduced number of staff being able to answer the radio.

To support the upgrade and our EOC colleagues, throughout the three weeks we ask that radio communication is please kept to a minimum, and only essential radio communication to the EOC is made. It may take longer than usual for EOC colleague to answer radio transmissions, and your patience and understanding would be really appreciated.

A more detailed communication will be shared with EOC colleagues from the project team about how the upgrade may affect you, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Nicholas Jones, Senior EOC Manager and Project and Technology Lead for EOC, at nicholas.jones@eastamb.nhs.uk
