Pensions choice

NHS logo

The NHS pensions choice exercise began in January 2010 and gave eligible members the chance to move their pension from the 1995 section of the scheme to the 2008 section.

From autumn, eligible members who chose not to move to the 2008 section will be given a second opportunity, under the choice 2 exercise. If you are eligible you will receive a letter from NHS pensions via your employer with instructions on what to do next and you can read more information here.

If you wish to contact NHS Pensions about choice 2 they have established a dedicated help line (0300 123 1701) and email (nhsbsa.choice2employers@nhs.net) to answer any questions you might have. Lines are open from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday, calls will be charged at local rates.
