A two-day conference, designed to enhance the quality of critical care, is taking place next month and students are invited to attend.

The Emergency Pre-hospital Inter-professional Critical Care Conference will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March in Southampton.

The EPICC is the annual conference of the Wessex Critical Care Programme and will include hands on workshops, lectures and high fidelity simulations.

Tickets are available with different options. On the Saturday, there are two streams from which you can choose. On Sunday, these will be mixed and the scenarios will require the skills learnt from both streams.

Stream one is aimed at those looking to learn the core skills in critical care. Workshops include airway and breathing management skills, basics of haemorrhage control, and use of extrication devices such as pelvic splints, spinal boards and immobilisation kit. Lecture topics include managing the septic patient, major trauma, and paediatric emergencies.

Stream two is aimed at those later in their undergraduate course who may already have a background understanding of critical care. Workshops topics include damage control resuscitation, mastering the primary survey, and management of paediatrics.

Lunch and refreshments are included. For more information or to book your tickets, visit the EPICC site.
