Staff have been thanked for their contribution to improving clinical quality care, as the latest Quality Account is published.

The report for 2014/15 is now available online with the clinical priorities for the coming year, as well as reflecting on the past 12 months. Every trust must produce an account under NHS guidelines for patient and care safety and quality.

In 2015/16 the Trust is focusing on the same seven key areas to raise standards in quality as it did in 2014/15, including stroke and heart attack care, timely response to patients, sepsis care, friends and family test, frequent callers, and cardiac arrest care.

Sandy Brown, Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality, explained the importance of using the Quality Account as a measure for patient care: “We need to ensure we’re providing the best for our patients, but it also allows those outside of the Trust to measure our successes. The work that goes into this report is year-round to help maintain the focus on clinical quality, and we can’t underestimate the challenges that lie within it. I’d like to thank the teams for putting so much effort into it, and am encouraged by the dedication to clinical excellence I see every day.”

Chief Executive Anthony Marsh said: “Well done to all of the staff involved with publishing this important document and I urge everyone to continue to have high-quality care at the very heart of their work.”

Sandy added: “The publication of the Quality Account kicks off what is an important month for the clinical team, with the launch of the quality strategy at the clinical briefing on 29th July – you can still book your place at the briefing by emailing risk@eastamb.nhs.uk.”

You can read the Quality Account on the Trust website.
