Safeguarding referrals were at the highest ever recorded last month, with a staggering 1,712 logged by staff.

We have a responsibility to report any incident that suggests a vulnerable person is suffering abuse or we have concerns about their circumstances.

Sandy Brown, Director of Nursing & Clinical Quality and Deputy Chief Executive said: “July’s figures highlight the diligence and professionalism of you all, and I’d like to say a big thank you for that.

“The safety of our patients and their families must always be at the forefront of what we do, and I have no doubt that these referrals will have made a huge difference to the welfare of those people. Keep up the good work.”

Remember, to make a referral you can call the 24/7 single point of contact (SPOC) number on 0845 602 6856.
