The 2014 staff survey results show that more than 70% of EEAST staff feel satisfied with the quality of patient care they are able to deliver, a 7% increase from the previous year.

Chief Executive Anthony Marsh said: “I am delighted these results show that our staff believe in the direction the organisation is going in. We can now add better staff engagement to the list of achievements for last year, which is most pleasing of all, and I am very proud of this result in particular.

“The full results will be looked at in detail by the Board and we will ensure action is taken on the areas that you have said need to improve; I have given my commitment to working in partnership with UNISON to ensure we make practical changes to better support staff, including tackling late finishes, sickness management and individual performance management all of which staff have raised with the Trust and through the recent Unison survey. We are also working on the ‘Sign Up to Safety’ campaign so that you feel able and encouraged to bring up incidents of poor clinical care when you see them, something which I very much support.”

More than a quarter of EEAST’s workforce responded to the survey.

The full results can be found on the NHS staff surveys website and more details about how the Trust will use them to make improvements will be published in due course on Need to Know.
