The sad passing of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh

The Chaplaincy Team joins with staff and those across the country and the world as we mourn the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

We offer our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen on the death of her beloved husband and to all members of the Royal Family. We pray for them as they grieve and ask God to bring them comfort. We give thanks to God for his life of service and dedication to his Queen, Country and Commonwealth.

God of our lives,

we give thanks for the life of Prince Philip,

for his love of our country

and his devotion to duty.

We entrust him now to your love and mercy, through our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Ruth May, Chief Nursing Officer for England, said: “It’s deeply saddening to hear that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has passed away, and on behalf of colleagues across the NHS, I would like to send my condolences to the Royal Family at this difficult time.”
