Trust receives reservist award at prestigious Tower evening

Matt Borad Tower award Jan 15

The Trust was invited to a prestigious Ceremony of the Keys evening last week in recognition of its support for the reserve forces.

Held at the iconic Tower of London on Monday, 28th January, the special event was a chance for Support for British Reservists and Employers (SaBRE) and guests to gather and celebrate our reservists nationally.

Attended by Locality Director Matt Broad, the Trust was presented with an esteemed ‘silver award’ in recognition of the continued support shown to reservist staff.

Matt said: “It was an honour to collect this award on behalf of the Trust; it’s important that we continue to value our staff who volunteer for the military – dedicated and hard-working individuals, they willingly give their own time to train and serve.”

There are around 35,000 volunteer reservists in the UK. Coming from all backgrounds, regions and jobs, these are ordinary men and women who give up their time to train and serve alongside the regular forces.

After the presentation, guests were invited to watch the traditional Ceremony of the Keys exchange - the locking up of the Tower of London that has taken place every night, without fail, for at least 700 years.

“It was a privilege to watch,” Matt added.
