Update from EOC from Daniel Gore

Transparent EEAST crest

I know you are very aware of the scale of the challenge the Trust is facing and that the emergency operations centre (EOC) is key to ensuring we are able to utilise resources as effectively as possible. Gary Morgan, Head of EOC and I have agreed to split the work between us for a period of time; I will be taking line responsibility for the three senior EOC mangers and Gary will head up the regional coordination centre (ops cell/critical care desk), clinical support desk, clinical coordination interface and also the training and audit team, which I am pleased to announce now falls into our team. Gary is also going to provide a period of support to the information team as we work together to enhance our operational information and reporting.

We continue to work at pace through the CAD upgrade and whilst time is not on our side, we remain committed to going live with this in early November. The scale of this upgrade is not to be underestimated and I am meeting with Intergraph this week to discuss the work involved. I understand the end user will not see much difference in the two versions initially and the main work is with the back end servers and control room equipment.

We are in the final throes of testing our fall-back regional telephony arrangements and we are hopeful that we will be able to go live soon. We will keep you updated about this important work as it is hoped we can put the plans in place in the next few weeks.

Transformation Director
