Using Trust-issue equipment – it’s tried and tested

Manual handling ambulance credited to SCAS

The equipment we carry every day is what allows us to do our jobs properly – without it we simply can’t provide high-quality care to our patients.

All the bags and equipment provided have been tried and tested to make sure they’re appropriate for use on patient, are infection prevention and control (IPC) compliant, and are safe for you to use and carry. So please make sure that all the equipment on your vehicles and in your response bags, and the bags themselves, are Trust issue only. This includes things like BM machines, oxygen saturation monitors (sats probes), and thermometers.

If you’re unsure or think you’re missing vital equipment, please speak to your management or ambulance fleet assistant teams who will be happy to help you.

Remember, please report any equipment losses, failures or shortages on Datix.
