Well done to our ambulance care assistants!

Blue lights

Congratulations to our six ambulance care assistants (ACAs) who have passed a new emergency driving course at Barton Mills.

The new course is designed to equip drivers with the necessary skills to prepare and drive vehicles under both non-emergency and emergency conditions.

As previously reported in Need to Know, the north Essex patient transport service contract began on 1st April and is running well. Within this new contract is an exciting new venture in the form of three high dependency vehicles crewed by paramedics, technicians and blue light trained ACAs.

Trevor Hammond, Training & Development Manager for non-emergency services, said: “I would like to congratulate the six ACAs who undertook the intensive four week emergency driving course at Barton Mills. The feedback from the driver training unit was nothing but positive. I would also like to thank the driver training unit for accommodating us in such a busy period.”

These new high dependency vehicles are already operational, transporting acute inter-hospital transfers - so give them a wave when you see them!
