EEAST has been awarded some additional funds from the NHS E Volunteer Services Fund to support CFR activity over winter.
One of the projects is to launch CFR cars. What is a CFR Car?
This is a Trust resource – without blue lights, that is based at a Trust location. The volunteers within the locality will book on ‘shifts’ and once on-duty, they will be deployed out by AOC to areas of need and response. This car will respond to the normal CFR categories as per ESOP 25.
The first CFR car went live on Friday the 3rd December, operating within the Ipswich area, with a CFR becoming operational within Colchester area in the coming days.
We have further cars to launch in Kings Lynn, Waveney, Cambridge and Luton (Dunstable).
CFRs have been recruited from many of the surrounding groups to join and undertake shifts on these resources, while still providing cover in their own communities.
