Paddling paramedic raising awareness of suicide prevention

Joe Cartwright, a leading operations manager, has raised awarness of suicide prevention in an interview with the BBC

Joe Cartwright, a leading operations manager in Bedfordshire, has shared his story with the BBC of how paddleboarding has helped him after being diagnosed he was post-traumatic stress disorder in 2020.

Joe is planning to cross the English Channel on his board in aid the suicide prevention charity, the Ollie Foundation

In the interview with the BBC, Joe talks candidly about his experiences that led to his diagnosis of PTSD and how paddleboarding has helped him out of this all-time low in his life.

He hopes the challenge will raise awareness of suicide, particularly among blue-light responders, and encourage people to reach out and seek help when they need it.
