Further arrangements to say goodbye to Steve Sale

Transparent EEAST crest

Last week we shared the sad news that our much-loved colleague, Steve Sale, had passed away.

Steve’s family have asked us to share details of his funeral, which we know many of you will want to attend; the service will be held at 1.30pm on Thursday, 4th May, at Chelmsford Cemetery and Crematorium (CM1 3BL).

All colleagues are welcome to join us in saying goodbye. As a true member of our ambulance service family, we will be holding a traditional Guard of Honour for Steve and ask that anyone who would like to take part wears uniform (if applicable).

The wake for Steve will be at the Lodge Country Inn, Wickford (SS11 7QT) after the service.

Steve’s family are asking for any other donations you’d like to make in his memory to please go to Cancer Research UK. You can do this by visiting Steve's donation page.

Steve was a well-liked colleague, and we know many of us will have shared fond memories with him. There is still time to contribute to the memory book we are creating for Steve’s family - if you have a message, story or memory you want to share about Steve please email Sandra Treacher, EOC Clinical Lead, at sandra.treacher@eastamb.nhs.uk

If you’ve been affected by Steve’s death and feel like you need some support, please remember that the Trust’s employee assistance programme is available at any time. It’s free, confidential, runs 24/7 and can be accessed either on the phone or online. Just visit www.well-online.co.uk (user name: EEASTlogin, password: wellbeing), or call 0800 085 1376.
