Staff idea on improving communication at scene

EEAST RRVs and amb on scene

We recently had a suggestion from patient facing staff about how we could best support a smooth handover between ambulance crews and rapid response vehicle (RRV) responders.

This involves displaying the RRV ISSI number in their rear/side windows. This means that, if needed, a crew can make immediate contact with the responder on arrival. This may be for example, to discuss requirements of what equipment should be brought in.

This will hopefully reduce unnecessary journeys between vehicles and minimise equipment carried to the patient. It will help locate a colleague in some of the more difficult to find locations.

It will also support additional point to point calling if further information needs to be exchanged after leaving scene.

The ISSI numbers will be displayed in all RRVs by 31st December. If you have any queries, please contact your line manager.
