A new you in 2022

Stop harassment and bullying ntk

As we look forward to the year ahead, and think about what changes we are going to make, there are some aspects of our behaviour at EEAST that we need to firmly assign to the past.

Such behaviour has led to many of our colleagues feeling unsafe at work or unable to speak out about inappropriate behaviour towards them which is often described as ‘banter’.

As we go into the new year, we need to make sure that we stamp out unprofessional behaviour, are more civil and respectful to one another and take a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and harassment. We all need to be able to spot the signs of sexual harassment and the Equality and Human Rights Commission has set out a requirement for all staff and volunteers to access training to help with this.

The training that has been created is now available on Evolve and will show immediately on your dashboard as you enter your Evolve account.

The training has been piloted with our senior managers. You will learn how to spot the signs of sexual harassment, avoid behaving in a way that could be interpreted as offensive and learn some simple tips for making a change in your behaviour that aligns to our organisational values.

Those who have already completed the training have said that it has helped them to come forward and share their own experiences, to reflect on how they behave and make changes or simply to feel better able to support others.

Please visit Evolve to undertake the training today.
