This month, AACE are running a Spotlight on Racism featuring Hafsa Mahumud, a former black Muslim paramedic with EEAST.
The Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE) has asked Chief Executives, Chairs and leadership teams across UK Ambulance Services to pledge to play a fundamental role in the achievement of positive and lasting change in stamping out racism –at both national and local levels. You can read more about the initiative and see each of the Ambulance Trust Chief Executives making their Pledge, including EEAST’s Tom Abell, here.
Hafsa shared her experiences of working as a paramedic with EEAST at the recent Ambulance Leadership Forum (ALF). AACE are now asking that everyone who works in or alongside the UK NHS ambulance service takes the time to watch the video and commits to doing all they can, whatever level they are at in their organisation, to ensure that respecting and valuing diversity is underpinned in all that we do with our patients and our people.

At EEAST we recognise that we can – and must - do better and we are committed to creating a diverse culture.
