Behind the scenes: Jenna Braddick, Clinical Learning Environment Lead

Jenna Braddick web

This week’s ‘behind the scenes’ spotlight shines on Jenna Braddick, our new Clinical Learning Environment Lead who is just a few months into her role.

Jenna, welcome to the Trust! Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a speech and language therapist by background.  I specialised in working with adults with learning disabilities in education and community settings, and last year I went to work for Health Education England’s Cambridgeshire workforce partnership as a clinical learning environment lead (CLE lead).

My role here as CLE lead is to develop and maintain the quality of the practice learning environment, so that the workforce of the future meets the standards of care expected by the public and of regulatory bodies.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy getting to meet mentors and students and learning about the experiences they have had.  My goal is to ensure that both students and mentors have a good experience and that we are providing good quality placements within EEAST.

What kind of things should people get in touch with you about?

Any issues to do with the quality of student placements.

What motivates you when it comes to working for the Trust?

I am motivated to make EEAST the best Trust in the country for the student experience, and hopefully they will then want to stay and work for us once they qualify.

Which of the Trust values (respect, care, teamwork, quality, honesty) is most important to you, and why?

All of the values are important but it’s quality that stands out for me - if we can provide quality placements we’ll provide quality in our future workforce.

What was your first job?

My first job was working weekends at WHSmith!
