Commercial Week Day Five: A new era for TrainEEAST

A new home and a new era for TrainEEAST

Many of you in the Trust will remember the Commercial Training Department, well it’s now known as TrainEEAST. We continue to deliver emergency pre-hospital care training to NHS units, military/blue light partners and businesses like Centerparcs, Bourne Leisure and airports. Over the years TrainEEAST have also delivered life-saving training to schools, hospitals, police firearms units and fish and chip shops!

Over 5,000 people are trained by us every year, putting competent rescuers into organisations across our patch, but things are changing. Last year we appointed a new manager, Jess Butwright, who brought new training skills and ideas to the team. We also started actively targeting bigger pieces of business through contract tendering and winning new contracts. These new contracts mean that the team is also being expanded. And just a month or two ago we moved into the Strategy Directorate and into the Commercial Services area. All of the units in the Commercial Services area are now working together to support each other and find new synergies and pieces of business. In addition a new marketing manager is in place to further generate leads and business.

Some things stay the same; customers and partners still love the training delivery and service we provide. 98.5% of the learners still rate their training as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ and we haven’t lost a contract to a competitor in six years!

What’s in it for you?

Did you know we deliver first aid, mental health first aid and other life saving training to colleagues in the Trust. We do charge, but usually at better than market rate.

What’s in it for TrainEEAST?

If you know any businesses who need our training, please push them through to us at commercial.training@eastamb.nhs.uk It will really help our continued growth.

Thank you

The TrainEEAST Team
