Comms team scoops national award

NTK award

The communications team’s trophy cabinet has had another boost after scooping a national award for its internal communications.

The Trust’s very own Need to Know, the internal rolling-news website for staff, was named as Publication of the Year at the 2015 UK Public Sector Communication Awards on 9th July in London.

The site faced stiff competition on the night, beating top-class entries like the King’s Fund and Soldier magazine to first place.

Tara Rose, Internal Communications Manager, said: “We’re hugely honoured to be recognised nationally for the work we do. Providing something that is easy for staff to read and access was always the aim, and now we’re looking forward to developing Need to Know even further in the future.”

The win follows up the team’s Award of Excellence from the Institute of Internal Communications, given last year after Need to Know was launched across the Trust.

The UK Public Sector Communication Awards celebrate and reward excellent communication strategies and campaigns, teams and individuals in local and national government, emergency services and not-for-profit bodies from across the UK.

The communications team was also shortlisted for Website of the Year, again for Need to Know, Digital Campaign of the Year for its work on the student paramedic recruitment, and In-House Team of the Year.
