Do you work more than 48 hours a week?

Blurred ambulance

Under the provisions of the Working Time Regulations, if you want to work more than an average of 48-hours per week for the Trust (averaged over a 17 week period and where this is offered to you), you will need to sign an individual agreement to do so.  This is often referred to as an ‘opt out agreement’.

The purpose is to protect your rights, and prevent employers from insisting that their staff work long hours.  The Trust is committed to the wellbeing of all staff, but also recognises that some of you may wish to work in excess of the statutory 48-hours working week limit.

Attached to your August payslip will be an envelope with two opt out forms; one for your personal records, and one to be returned to HR Services. Please mark it for the attention of Amy Trussell, and remember it can also be returned via internal mail or scanned and emailed to amy.trussell@eastamb.nhs.uk.
