The Disability Support Network (DSN) for East of England Ambulance Service are looking for individuals who have a passion to help drive the aims of Disability, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion forward.

 

Due to the Terms of Reference, we are required to re-advertise DSN officers every three years, and this time we are advertising for a Chair, Deputy Chair and Secretary.  Our Secretary has already stood down and urgently require secretarial support as soon as possible.

However, if nobody comes forward for the other posts, the current chair and deputy will continue to serve the network. 

The closing date for these vacancies is midnight on September 25th 2022.

Information officer/Secretary

The Information Officer/Secretary will have responsibility for supporting the following functions:

  • Ensuring up-to-date information is kept for the network and as much information is made accessible to the group through all available medias.
  • To co-ordinate information being held on the internet and intranet, linking to information technology colleagues, as necessary.
  • To keep an up-to-date record of members of the group so information can be effectively distributed.
  • Work with the Chairperson to plan meeting for the whole year.
  • Agree agenda with the Chairperson.
  • Send out meeting invites.
  • Take minutes of meetings.
  • Keep and a record of all meetings and chase any pending actions.
  • Take the lead and be point of contact for PurpleSpace. PurpleSpace - networking hub for disabled employees, employee network leaders and their allies

Chair and co-Chairs (Deputy/vice)

The network Co-chairs will hold responsibility for co-ordinating the activities of the network and fulfil the following tasks:

  • The chairs/Co-chairs/deputy/vice will chair the meetings together (one will cover the other if either is on leave).
  • Set dates for the meetings and organise a suitable space to be available.
  • Set an agenda for each meeting and work with the Secretary to send these out to participants in advance. - Circulate minutes or notes from each meeting to all participants of the group.
  • Be the link person to the Equality and Diversity Lead for East of England Ambulance Trust Service and to keep all participants aware of significant changes in the Trust between meetings.
  • Support the Trust in fulfilling relevant organisational objectives as outlined in Action Plans e.g., Gender Pay Gap, Workforce Race Equality Standards, Equality Delivery System.
