EEAST attend community event to unite against hatred

Mandy Putt and Lisa Fautley representing EEAST at the Hands Together, Southend Against Hatred event

EEAST were represented at an event last week organised by the community of Southend to show its unity and tolerance following the death of Sir David Amess.

Mandy Putt and Lisa Fautley attended the installation and signing of Hands Together, Southend Against Hatred at Twenty One on The Parade in Southend on Friday 12 November.

Also in attendance were colleagues from Essex Police, James Duddridge, the MP for Rochford and Southend, and Margaret Borton, the Mayor of Southend, as well as numerous community groups.

Sir David Amess was an MP since 1983 – firstly for Basildon and then Southend West since 1997 – and was a much-respected figure whose tragic death last month shook the community of Southend and the country.

Following his death last month, our Chief Executive Tom Abell paid a personal tribute to Sir David.
