Emergency Services Day

Emergency services day logo

This Friday (9th September) is the fifth annual Emergency Services Day, recognising and celebrating the two million people who work and volunteer for the emergency services across the UK.

Emergency Services Day is about having a dedicated day each year to celebrate the extraordinary bravery and dedication of those staff working right across the emergency services.

At 9am on the day itself, (at the 9th hour, of the 9th day, of the 9th month) there will be a two minutes’ silence, paying tribute to all emergency services personnel killed as a result of their duties during the past 200 years. People are encouraged to participate and not be active on social media etc for those two minutes.

For us, tomorrow is about saying thank you to everyone at EEAST for the amazing work you do, and acknowledging the work of all our colleagues in the blue light services. Join us on our social media accounts where we’ll be celebrating your achievements, whether you’re a staff member or a volunteer, frontline or support staff. We’ll be posting throughout the day, along with our other emergency services colleagues, using the hashtag #999DayUK.

Follow us on TwitterInstagramFacebook and LinkedIn, for regular updates and posts throughout the day.
