ePCR event reaches Mid and South East Essex

ePCR event Mid South East Essex

The ePCR team brought the welfare van to hospitals and ambulance stations in Basildon, Southend and Chelmsford this week to talk with crews, answer questions and listen to suggestions to improve the ePCR software.

The events took place between Monday and Wednesday (9 and 11 May), with the welfare van a welcome sight at the hospitals. We demonstrated the ‘scan text’ function we learnt from a Waveney crew to Gio Falzarano and James D’Arcy in Basildon (pictured), along with voice dictation as efficient way of inputting data quickly in an ePCR.

If you want to try the scan text features on iPads to input handwritten notes or printed materials, follow the steps below:

  • Press and hold in the text box > tap the scan text icon shown below > hold iPad camera over text to scan > tap insert to add to ePCR record (or any other document or app such as MS Teams)
  • Check the spelling and grammar of the handwritten text which has been scanned into the record.

The team will be visiting Suffolk and Northeast Essex next Monday to Wednesday (16 to 18 May).

Please remember that practices for working safely with COVID-19 remain in place, including all PPE requirements. Please be sure to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene and socially distance wherever possible if you plan to come along.
