Fundraising for our Charity

safeguarding

In recent months, the East of England Ambulance Service Charity has seen an increase in staff and volunteers, signing up for some inspiring challenges to raise money and awareness for the Charity, supporting the Trust and Community First Responder Groups.

It is great so many of you are keen to support the Charity in this way, however all fundraising must be pre-approved before commencement of any fundraising activities. This is to ensure fundraising is carried out in line with charity guidelines.

The following details the actions which need to be taken prior to entering any fundraising on behalf of the charity:

  • All fundraising and sponsorship fundraising projects should support one or more of the general criteria for the expenditure of charitable funds and one or more of the priorities for expenditure – The criteria can be found in the Charitable Funds Strategy.
  • All fundraising activities, regardless of value, are to be notified to the Trustee, or its delegates, before commencement of any fundraising activities for the correct level of authorisation. This can be done by emailing charitablefunds@eastamb.nhs.uk

The request should detail the purpose of the fundraising, anticipated targets, the activities, and methods to be employed, including any publicity and/or media coverage and the timescale for the project.

Approval levels are detailed in the Approve Scheme of Delegation

  • Discussions may be required prior to the acceptance of restricted funds.
  • Fundraisers must ensure that the methods and activities used to raise funds do not bring the Trust into disrepute and are in line with the Ethical Fundraising Policy.
  • All fundraising must comply with the Code of Fundraising Practice, as set out by the Fundraising regulator.
  • If you are intending to advertise your fundraiser and this is aligned specifically with EEAST or the charity, either by name, logo or uniform all proposed communications should be sent to charitablefunds@eastamb.nhs.uk prior to publication for approval. All fundraising T-shirts, banners etc.
